“High ideals of purity, of duty and of truth
Learnt while we bore Loreto’s flag in the sunny days of Youth.”
This is Loreto, as we’ve known it, an institute of preeminence, imparting values of compassion and
chivalry in every student that has walked through it’s gates. But for me it is so much more, an abode of
amity and glee, a port in the roughest of storms.
I am extremely honoured and grateful to be bestowed with the responsibility of the head girl of this
prestigious institution. I am very thankful to our Principal, Sr. Gloria Lakra, our Superior, Sr. Marion Vase,
the teachers and my fellow mates for believing in me. As the head girl, I promise to remain true to the
ideals of Loreto and be courteous and unpretensious at all times. Dear fellow mates, I firmly believe that
everyone is blessed with a gift of unique abilities which often go undiscovered. I promise to do my best
to stimulate every talent and idea so that we all may be able give our unparalleled contribution to the
school. Like little drops make the mighty ocean, our small efforts, when joined together can bring a
phenomenal change, not only in the school but also in the society.
I promise to fulfill my duties in the spirit of collaboration, not division; communication, not
concealment; influence, not authority. I hope to help the school reach reach greater heights, under the
guidance of God and the inspiration of Mary Ward. Sir Henry David once wrote, “I cannot make my days
longer, so I strive to make them better.” Let’s make this our motto!
